Motoring personalities share three stylish yet practical used cars, priced from £2,000
Drivers looking for a practical family-sized car have been offered three popular used models, with many examples available for £2,000.
A pair of popular used car experts have shared their thoughts on three dependable family-sized models that are priced from £2,000.
Adam Morris and Jim Hull are two Australian mechanics that run the YouTube channel ReDriven, regularly posting videos in which they give advice to help viewers buy the best used car for them.
In a popular video, the pair discuss the best used hatchbacks available for an affordable price, with Adam noting that the Kia Rio offers plenty of standard equipment.
He advised: "From a driving point of view, the suspension is tuned for all conditions, they're really enjoyable to drive, and you get plenty of safety features.
"And, like a lot of Hyundais and Kias, they are loaded with kit. At the time, the companies were trying to coax people over to their cars, rather than buying a Toyota or a Mazda. You get a lot of stuff for your money."
Manufactured between 2011 and 2017, the third-generation Kia Rio was considered a vast improvement over previous models.
Rivalling models such as the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo, the Rio was available with four engines, including an incredibly economical 1.1-litre diesel and a fairly sporty 1.4 petrol.
Currently, buyers can pick up a third-generation Kia Rio from £2,000, with many low-mileage examples offered for around £5,000.

Later in the video, Jim highlighted that a similar budget is also enough for a Mazda3, with the mechanic stating that they are generally very reliable models.
He added: "We see 10 of these [in the workshop] to all of the others, they're way more popular. I can give you a list of things that do go wrong, they have some oil leaks and engine mount issues.
"I've got to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen one come in on a tow truck. The issues are mostly nothing. I think it's the best looking [car for the budget], too."
Finally, Adam suggested that motorists looking for an attractive family-sized hatchback for a reasonable price should also consider a Honda Civic.
He explained: "For this under-$8,000 (£4,000) budget, you're going to be looking at either 2012 to 2017 hatchbacks or 2006 to 2010 sedans and both are fantastic.
"They are getting a little bit long in the tooth, but they're excellent cars. Honda reliability, Honda build quality, it's pretty hard to get past."
