Whether you like it or not, things have a habit of breaking down.

And when they do, it can often mean shelling out a hefty sum to get them fixed.

But thankfully, with the plethora of life hacks available, that's not always necessary.

A TikTok user has now revealed a nifty trick for fixing a broken window mirror.

The user, who goes by @master_driver666, has amassed a following of 634,000 on the platform where they share a treasure trove of motoring hacks and tips.

In the footage, the woman explains what to do if your window lift switch stops working, reports the Mirror.

She advises: "If you go to the repair shop, guess how much they dare to charge you? In fact, replacing accessories is very simple.

"I'll teach you, first if the rearview mirror is broken, borrow a car key. Aim it at the gap below, pry it up gently, then the old lenses have been removed."

Continuing her tutorial, the woman says: "Then let's buy a rearview mirror of the same model, it only costs the price of a meal. The installation method is very simple.

Look align this place with the base, press down firmly. When you hear a squeaking sound, it's installed."

The clip has since gone viral on TikTok, racking up 40,900 likes and more than 9,000 shares. One impressed viewer commented: "Thank you so much! Can you show us how to replace headlight covers from 2012 Toyota. Love you!"

One person chimed in with praise, saying: "I'm learning," and another admirer added: "She's awesome, I'm going to follow."

A fourth fan couldn't contain their enthusiasm, exclaiming: "Hire you for life, all will be fixed."

In a separate development on the roads, motorists could find themselves out of pocket due to a scarcely known charging rule that imposes a £1 per minute penalty.

Electric vehicle owners who overstay at public charging points may be slapped with "idle fees", as pointed out by industry experts.

Select Car Leasing has brought attention to the issue, noting that numerous drivers are mistakenly treating charging bays like complimentary long-stay car parks, unaware of the financial repercussions they could face.
