Drivers could save hundreds with little-known motoring tip that 'fixes' car window

A TikTok user shared a 'genius' hack which can fix any issues with a broken car mirror in seconds - and it's really cheap to try at home.

Things break sometimes and often fixing them can cost a lot.

But fear not, as the world of life hacks is here to save the day, and one TikTok user has just the trick for a broken window mirror.

The user, who goes by @master_driver666, has amassed a whopping 634,000 followers on the platform, where they share their best motoring hacks and tricks. Their latest video is taking the internet by storm, helping drivers worldwide.

In the viral clip, the woman explains what to do when your window lift switch gives up.

She advised: "If you go to the repair shop, guess how much they dare to charge you? In fact, replacing accessories is very simple. I'll teach you, first if the rearview mirror is broken, borrow a car key. Aim it at the gap below, pry it up gently, then the old lenses have been removed."

The savvy motorist doesn't stop there, as she added: "Then let's buy a rearview mirror of the same model, it only costs the price of a meal. The installation method is very simple. Look align this place with the base, press down firmly. When you hear a squeaking sound, it's installed."

The hack has clearly resonated with viewers, racking up 40,900 likes and over 9,000 shares on TikTok. One grateful viewer responded: "Thank you so much! Can you show us how to replace headlight covers from 2012 Toyota? Love you!"

One person said: "I'm learning," and another praised: "She's awesome, I'm going to follow." A third admirer declared: "Hire you for life, all will be fixed."

However, Ali Ingram-Seal, a motoring expert at Saga, warned that not preparing a vehicle could lead to issues, particularly encouraging drivers to check their batteries.

She explained: "A flat battery is a leading cause of breakdowns in the UK and is particularly common for vehicles that typically only make short journeys.

"Before a long trip, take your car out for a 30-minute journey to fully recharge the battery."
