Jamie Dornan: ‘I don’t want it to be like Fifty Shades’ Star reveals EXCITING career plans
JAMIE DORNAN has revealed that he is open to taking his career in a slightly new direction.

The actor is currently promoting two very different new films - A Private War and Untogether - which come a year after he completed work as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Freed; the conclusion to the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy alongside Dakota Johnson. With his acting career having also spanned the likes of The Fall and Robin Hood, it seems there is still one area he would like to explore more.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor spilled on a potential return to the theatre.
He took part in plenty of school plays and amateur drama productions before hitting the big time, and has told the Belfast Telegraph that he’s often in talks to tread the boards once more.
But the caveat is it wouldn’t be a West End cash-in on the erotic movies he became a household name in.
“I have conversations about theatre all the time,” he said.
“But I don’t want it to be a West End thing, like Fifty Shades, or anything like that.”
He also said in the same interview that he has not been looking for another role that would frequently see him in states of undress - like Fifty Shades.
“There's nothing like that franchise, so it's easy to avoid,” he reasoned.
“[Death and Nightingales, a show he was recently seen in] is not Poldark. Even though I've never watched it, I've just seen his [Aidan Turner’s] torso a lot.”
A Private War is out this weekend, in which Dornan stars opposite Rosamund Pike - in a project he described as his most emotional film yet.
Pike plays journalist Marie Colvin, with Dornan as photographer Paul Conroy.
It’s had plenty of critical acclaim - bagging an 89% score on Rotten Toamtoes - and also plenty of awards nominations, including a Golden Globe nod for Pike.
Untogether, however - in which he stars alongside Jemima Kirke - has fared slightly worse with the critics.
A Private War is out tomorrow in the UK.
