DAKOTA JOHNSON has opened up on the behind-the-scenes difficulties with the Fifty Shades movies.

The actress starred in the R-rated trilogy with Jamie Dornan, which concluded with the release of Fifty Shades Freed back in February.
Speaking to the Times, she was asked about the notorious backstage troubles that saw director Sam Taylor-Johnson leave after one movie amid a clash with creator EL James.
A male director, James Foley, was recruited to finish the trilogy.
Asked if it was “tricky” to continue, Johnson said: “Extremely.
“That circles back to being in a situation that may not be completely ideal, but you figure out how to make it work.
“I signed up to a film with a Patrick Marber screenplay, directed by Sam, and it just turned into something completely different.”
When Taylor-Johnson left, Johnson and Dornan were contracted to make the remaining two movies.
“It did exactly what it was supposed to do, and turned out great, but it shape-shifted in the night,” the star added.
The movies are best-known for their huge numbers of sex scenes, which Johnson called “tedious” to keep filming.
“Shooting two films back to back, where the majority is the same, over and over, did get a little bit tedious,” she said.
“It became, ‘how are we going to make this goddamn sex scene better than the other ones?’ There’s only so much you can do when the film is rated R.
“It was tricky. But it was a challenge I’m not ashamed of and I’m infinitely grateful to… I learned so much about my personal resilience.”
Fifty Shades Darker: Dakota Johnson stars in RAUNCHY scene
Johnson is now promoting two new films: Bad Times at the El Royale, out this weekend; and Suspiria, an unsettling horror remake.
The latter sees her re-teaming with Luca Guadagnino, with whom she previously worked on A Bigger Splash.
He is said to want her to play Armie Hammer’s on-screen wife in a Call Me By Your Name sequel.
Bad Times at the El Royale is out tomorrow.
