Gemma Atkinson shares that son has chest and ear infection
Gemma Atkinson has revealed that her son has a chest and ear infection, just as her partner Gorka is forced to leave his family to start the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Taking to Instagram, the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress showed herself embracing her toddler son, saying that he is on "antibiotics and lots of TLC."
She also wrote alongside the video footage that her child "wasn't himself yesterday at all" and that she knew he'd experienced the same infection after previously cutting his teeth as they start to grow.
It comes just as Gemma's fiance Gorka Marquez has gone to Scotland to begin the 2024 season of Strictly Come Dancing. He'll be seen gliding across the dance floor with Dr. Punam Krishan, a 41 year old Glasgow-based medic.
However, his commitment to Strictly means time away from his Manchester-based family and Gorka could potentially be away from Gemma and his two children for 15 weeks.

He recently revealed his thought about balancing his work and personal life in an emotional Instagram post. Gorka shared: "Sometimes I feel like in here we all share happy things, or things that can make others go Wow look at him/her...how amazing. Maybe scared to show the other side of us, more vulnerable, but that is still us. So...here is me, having a moment of those that sometimes we hide or keep for our selves, especially being a man."
The dancer added: "I feel like today should be one of those days where everyone might think is all happiness, joy, excitement, for all what is about to start with Strictly...And YES it is. But at the same time I get a feeling of sadness, guilt, for going away for what ever long it is. A feeling of letting them down for not being there, a sense of failure to them.."

He concluded: "I hope you all have a lovely Sunday and thanks for letting me share it with you all" - alongside a red heart emoji. His partner Gemma responded with a lighthearted comment, joking that he had taken all the clothes she likes to borrow away with him, reports the Mirror.
Gemma and Gorka met during the 2017 season of Strictly Come Dancing and now share two children: Mia and Thiago. He has already formed a close bond with his Strictly partner Dr. Krishan, who has offered to show him around Glasgow.
