Coleen Nolan has praised her Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford for her remarkable grace in navigating her recent split from Eamonn Holmes.

It comes after reports claimed Ruth was taken aback by recent photos of Eamonn at the airport with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, mere months after their split in April.

As the This Morning presenter navigates the emotional turbulence of their divorce, GB News star Eamonn has been enjoying a romantic getaway with Katie in Barcelona, Spain.

Ruth and Eamonn ended their 14-year marriage earlier this year, with their representative commenting at the time: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Meanwhile, Coleen has stood by Ruth throughout the breakup, admiring how her friend has faced the situation with extraordinary "dignity" and "pride.”

She told Woman magazine: "I will say from a friend's point of view, I've never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride. She's just such a lady, more of a lady then I'll ever be, I would've spilled my guts right now."

Coleen - who has been divorced twice before - admitted she has tried giving Ruth some advice, but her friend has taken her own path.

She added: "I've given her advice but she doesn't listen to me, I'm going, 'How can you not say anything?' But I don't need to give her advice."

After returning to Loose Women following a brief hiatus, Ruth has remained tight-lipped about the reasons behind her separation from Eamonn.

Meanwhile, Eamonn previously opened up about how he wants to remain a friend to Ruth despite their split. He said: "It's too early to say but I hope we can still be friends."

The TV presenter, who suffers from chronic back pain which is so severe he needed a walking aid and high-tech wheelchair for the ceremony, also admitted he feels as if he is living on "borrowed time", as his father Leonard died at the age of 65 from a heart attack in 1991. He added: "I wasn’t going to come but I've got this new chair with all these gadgets."
