Rylan Clark wasn't holding back when he revealed to Express.co.uk that he is in the midst of a "full-on romance" with co-star Rob Rinder.

However, anyone keen for the pair to formally couple up will be disappointed, as Rylan has revealed he'd likely "kill" Rob within days if they ever got married. Their relationship is a "non-sexual" one, which Rylan joked has given them the status of an "old married couple".

Viewers will no doubt be familiar with Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour - a travel-themed TV show which saw the pair dress up in full drag at Venice Carnival as a gesture of gay pride, attempt to conduct an orchestra and explore the art and literature of Italy in great detail. Yet now Rylan has candidly told all about the relationship the co-stars share behind the scenes, in more detail than ever before.

Talking at the BBC Radio 2 In The Park festival today, he said he "loves" the rumours they are involved in a romance. "Me and Rob are like an old married couple but we don't have sex. We are a typical married couple!" he playfully revealed.

"I love Rob. If you could marry your friends, I'd marry Rob because he is just the most wonderful man." However, he warned: "If I ended up in a relationship with him I'd probably kill him in two days... not a good look, but I do love him."

He was quick to correct any suggestion it was a "bromance", declaring: "Oh no, it's a full on romance! It's just that we don't have the sexual side of it. I love that man with all my heart."

He added that they'd both "love to go somewhere else" for a future travel show.

"We didn't know what show we were making [the first time]. Was it a travel blog, was it a reality show? What it turned into was perfect," he teased, "so we're looking forward to doing that again."

Meanwhile, he also opened up on his surprise performance with Pixie Lott, revealing that the songstress had phoned him just three days before the event to invite him on stage to sing with her.

"She moved so she's like my new neighbour. I thought she wanted some sugar but then she said, 'No I'm serious!'" a gob-smacked Rylan revealed.

He quizzed incredulously: "Are you alright, have you had a bang to the head?"

Despite having had no practise beforehand and performing for the first time in over a year, gutsy Rylan insisted he felt no nerves.

"I'm not doing open heart surgery, no one will die. Unless it's me falling off the stage!" he joked.

Rylan previously discussed his passion for Japan and the chance of visiting a hotel run by robots in the tech-obsessed city of Tokyo, in our exclusive interview with him here.
