Jeremy Clarkson announces new Hawkstone Breeze Lager

Jeremy Clarkson is forging ahead with plans for his Cotswold's pub and has lodged a fresh licensing application with West Oxfordshire District Council. He also reportedly has plans to offer free pints of his Hawkstone Lager on the premises - but only if you are a farmer.

The Clarkson's Farm star is hoping to broaden the pub's remit for selling drinks beyond the confines of the premises to include the great outdoors. Supporting documents for the application state he wishes: "To update the floor plans to include a bar on the first floor, extend the licensable area outside the premises and include a temporary tent in a fixed location."

Determined to foster a traditional pub atmosphere, Clarkson intends to outlaw "noisy TVs", promote classic pub games, offer exclusively British fare, and provide local farmers with a complimentary pint of Hawkstone. Whether that will be an ongoing offer or for first-time visitors is unknown.

West Oxfordshire District Council confirmed: "We have received an application to vary the Premise Licence at the Windmill Restaurant. It will follow the legal process for an application for this type which starts with a 28 day public consultation before the council determines the request in line with national guidelines, taking into account any feedback received."

Jeremy has admitted his refurbishments, which will feature in the next series of his Prime Video show Clarkson's Farm, will take some time. However, he opened the "unfinished" venue for the recent Euro 2024 finals giving fans their first glimpse at the venue.

In a video clip shared to his Instagram page the former Top Gear host could be seen pulling pints of Hawkstone lager and cider from inside the Cotswolds pub.

The person behind the camera asked the 64-year-old what was going on as he could be seen serving customers behind the bar.

Jeremy, trying to concentrate on the job at hand, replied: "Well, we've accidentally opened our pub before it's kind of finished."

The cameraman interjects by asking: "It wasn't really supposed to open for four or five weeks, was it?"

"No, it was going to be very many weeks before we get it open, but by mistake, we've got very many people in here," Jeremy confessed.

The camera panned out to show the venue's punters who were in England football shirts ahead of the nailbiting Euro 2024 final against Spain.

It wasn't made clear in the video whether it was a private event or if the pub was open to the public for the occasion.

The watering hole was decorated with England flags and bunting for the big game which eventually saw Spain beat England 2-1 in a heartbreaking defeat for Gareth Southgate's team.
