Huw Edwards branded 'monster' by mum who first complained to BBC as he pleads guilty
The mother of a teenager has broken her silence after Huw Edwards admitted to possessing explicit videos of a young boy. The mum previously complained to the BBC about the disgraced presenter.
The relieved mother who unmasked "monster" Huw Edwards has spoken out about her sense of vindication, declaring to the world the true nature of the man. Overwhelmed with emotion, she recounted her breakdown upon discovering that the disgraced ex-BBC newsreader had confessed to possessing explicit footage of a young boy aged between seven and nine.
Following the scandal involving a "household name" presenter, which hit headlines in a national newspaper, the BBC initiated a review of its complaints process.
Edwards, who was previously implicated as the BBC personality accused of paying a youth over £35,000 for sexually explicit content since they were 17, has now seen his guilt confirmed as the mother of the teenager wept upon hearing his guilty plea. The 62-year-old admitted to making indecent images of children at Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning, marking his first public appearance since resigning from News at Ten on 5 July 2023.
In an exclusive with The Sun, the mother shared her revulsion: "Now I know he is truly a monster."
She continued: "I thought perhaps it was best if I wasn't here anymore, I felt the whole world was against me. Comments caused a massive backlash which even made me doubt myself."
"I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I felt so alone," the woman, who cannot be named due to her son's age, told the publication."
The Welsh celebrity, arrested last November and charged last month, is set to appear in court again on September 16.
He was escorted by police officers and besieged by photographers this morning as he entered and exited the court today.
