Strictly's Annabel Croft supports Johannes Radebe as he makes huge career announcement
Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe has made a big career announcement as his former BBC dance partner Annabel Croft showed her support.
Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has shared his next huge career move. The 37-year-old South African dancer was supported by his former BBC show partner, Annabel Croft, as he chatted to Cyndi Lauper about starring in Kinky Boots: The Musical.
The stage show's official Instagram page shared a behind the scenes look as singing sensation Cyndi caught up with cast members Johannes and Dan Partridge. The show features music and lyrics from the Girls Just Want To Have Fun singer so she gave the actors a piece of her mind before they took to the stage.
In the clip, dancer Johannes asked Cyndi what advice she had for the performers. She replied: "I always say listen to the rhythm and trust the melody, because it's there for you to ride like you're surfing.
"And what Harvey always taught me was when there are no more words, you sing." She went on to announce that Kinky Boots: The Musical would be soon opening at the Curve Theatre in Leicester.
Annabel, who Johannes was partnered with on Strictly in 2023, was one of the first to comment on the Instagram post, as she shared support for her former dance partner. The tennis star wrote: "I’m counting down to watch you in the role that you were born to play - can’t wait".
Fans echoed her sentiments, with them also being excited for opening night. One user wrote: "This is going to be EPIC!
Counting down the days until opening night in Leicester!"
Another added: "Already booked so excited bring on January". While a third penned: "Cannot wait, booked tickets already".
Kinky Boots is mostly inspired by true events with the musical telling the story of Charlie Price, a shoe factory owner.

Having inherited a shoe factory from his father, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots and save the business.
Foster and Curve’s chief executive, Chris Stafford, said: "We all know Johannes for his extraordinary artistry on the dance floor, but seeing him inhabit the astonishing world of Lola in Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper’s proud, punchy and passionate Kinky Boots has been an electrifying and profoundly moving experience."
The tour launches at Leicester Curve from January 17 to 25, 2025. It will show in numerous venues across the UK before wrapping up at Oxford New Theatre on July 26, 2025.
