Eamonn Holmes, in an interview prior to the announcement of his split from Ruth Langsford, admitted that his soon-to-be ex-wife "gets on his nerves". The former This Morning hosts, both 64, shocked fans when they decided to end their 14-year marriage.

Eamonn hinted at issues in their relationship during a May interview, describing Ruth as a "creature of habit", which he found irritating.

While discussing his GB News co-host Isabel Webster, Eamonn joked that the 41 year old "never shuts up" when they're preparing for their show. He told HELLO! magazine: "She and my wife are incredibly alike, they're both creatures of habit, like routine and do things the same way every day - and they both get on my nerves! ".

Isabel revealed that she and Ruth would often "gang up" on Eamonn. She said: "She sends me messages while we're on air, saying things like, 'Tell him his tie's not straight.' And when he revealed how Ruth snores, she shot back, 'Don't get me started on his faults! '", reports the Mirror.

Signs of trouble in Ruth and Eamonn's relationship became evident when the couple hadn't been seen together publicly for two years. They eventually announced their separation in May, stating they were in the "process of divorcing", a revelation that took everyone by surprise.

Ruth has remained tight-lipped after their split and temporarily staying away from work, while Eamonn has resumed his role at GB News, expressing gratitude for the unconditional support from fans. Eamonn has also purportedly been spotted in the company of Katie Alexander, 42, who is rumoured to have visited his home several times, as well as model Hayley Sparks.

According to a source quoted in Bella Magazine: "Ruth is in absolute shock. That there is another woman he's turning to is making her wonder how many more there could be. It all feels never-ending. She's very hurt by it all - it's like he's been living a secret life all this time. She feels let down. Never would she of thought that he could have done this to her and her family."

On the other hand, Ruth's pals suggest that if Eamonn can find new companions, so should Ruth. A source told Best magazine: "Ruth has been completely shocked by it all. She doesn't feel ready, if truth be told, but she has been left reeling after seeing Eamonn get close to a new woman.

"She never thought in a million years there would be talk of either of them moving on after just publicly announcing their split, but her friends have said that if Eamonn is moving on with someone new, then there's no reason why she shouldn't as well."
