Roger Waters appears to talk to himself during interview

Piers Morgan was left speechless as Pink Floyd's Roger Waters started talking to himself during an interview on Uncensored. The usually unflappable presenter took to X following the show to post the clip and say: "Interviewed many thousands of people over the years, but never had one who started talking to himself…"

The pair were having a heated discussion about the Israel Hamas war during which Roger was gtting visibly agitated as Piers corrected him on facts. Roger denied that Israeli women had been raped during the attacks of October 7 by Hamas, calling those who claimed otherwise "filthy, disgusting" liars.

Piers shot back: "Actually women were raped", to which he replied: "No they weren’t. There’s no evidence." The musician looked exasperated before he turned his head as if to talk to someone but began talking to himself.

"Roger, Roger calm down. Don't sink to his level," he said before answering himself back. "Alright I won't," he responded. "Stop shouting," he said to himself as a bewildered Piers looked on and asked him: "What level?"

Piers had alluded the interview would be controversial in an earlier post on X. "I interviewed Pink Floyd star @rogerwaters yesterday, after calling him ‘the world’s dumbest rock star’ and a ‘complete and utter moron'," he began.

"It went as well as could be expected," he concluded before inviting viewers to tune in. The stormy interview was every bit as confrontational as Piers had hinted, with Roger at one point angrily quizzing: "Are you deaf?"

Roger laughed repeatedly as Piers read out a tweet from former Pink Floyd lyricist Polly Samson describing him as "antisemitic to the rotten core" and a "Putin apologist".

When it was pointed out that David Gilmour had also retweeted it, he replied: "No comment. Oh, shut up... They're public and I'm private.

The interview was posted at 8pm on Tuesday (July 2) and at time of writing has genrated 461,000 views.

Viewers were quick to respond to Piers post and they had mixed feelings about how the chat went with some feeling "sad" for the legendary rock star.

@BenHopper opined: "I’d say Roger has hit a new rock bottom but he’s been at the very bottom for a long longggg time. The bottom of the dark side of moon. What a sad way to spend your last years on earth. This is how he’ll be remembered."
@justJoanne74 wrote: "So sad,I love his solo and pink Floyd music, if only all musicians and actors would just stick to what there best at."
@someguynamedre commented: "I watched it in slack-jawed abject horror. You even respected him enough to recover for him twice by deflecting his mumblings and to switch gears to other topics.. A tactic you do to save some of your guests I have noticed. This was bad..."
@HHepplewhite said: "A very interesting and good interview. I enjoyed it. I will say one thing. Piers you know when you did the interviews with the prisoners series. Why on earth can you not interview like that on this show. You were brilliant. I find myself saying what Roger kept on saying that was to shut up and allow him to speak. You can do it."
