Former GB News presenter Kirsty Gallacher has revealed that she has no intention of returning to the controversial news programme after her departure in 2021.

The TV host and radio star, 48, announced her exit from GB News after just six months following her discovery that she had a benign tumour, which then sparked a number of health issues including tinnitus in her ears.

Tinnitus is an hearing affliction which sees noises heard from inside the body, leading to ringing, humming, or buzzing sounds in one or both ears, causing discomfort.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Kirsty admitted that returning to GB News is not on the horizon as she is still suffering from symptoms of the tumour after undergoing radiotherapy to shrink it.

She said: “I loved my time on GB News. But unfortunately, I have got a benign tumour and I've got to keep an eye on that, but it's still affecting my health. Getting up at 2.45 in the morning is not easy and I have low level tinnitus.

“For me to function well as a single mum and do my other projects, with the radio, charities, and other projects, it wasn't possible to keep going and be getting up for this. And so it was one of those things that I just had to tell them, they were very kind and I had to just step away, and I wish them well.”

She continued: “Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster are friends of mine, and they’re doing a great job. But it's not something you can just step back into. I left for a reason. I knew it was a big decision, but it's the right decision for me as a functioning human being who is a mum as well. Yeah, I've got many other commitments, so I can't keep it all going.”

One of Kirsty’s latest projects is with automowing company Husqvarna, who have launched a new campaign during the Euros, which sees users able to choose a team competing in the Euros, and the machine will perform a victory dance when they score, something which Kirsty branded as “amazing”.

Meanwhile, Kirsty shared her thoughts on England's prospects in the Euros 2024 competition ahead of their victory, as she said: "There's been a lot of chat about players that aren't there. Rashford, Grealish, Henderson, Raheem Sterling.

"He's chosen the players that are in form that he feels he can rely on. And you've got to trust him. This is his squad and we hope that it's going to work and it is disappointing to those players. Yeah, it's a real shame.

"But they've got a very good chance, I'm feeling very confident. I'm a huge fan of Southgate, and I want him to do well, I want him to do one better. But it is hard for me because I've got one foot in the Scotland camp and one in the England camp!"
