Donny Osmond set record straight on why fans rarely see his wife of 46 years in public
Donny Osmond and his wife Debbie have been married for nearly five decades and despite their long-lasting relationship they are rarely seen together publicly.
Donny Osmond has opened up about this marriage and revealed why he and his wife Debbie preferred to keep their romance away from the spotlight.
The couple are high-school sweethearts who met as teenagers and dated for three years before getting married in 1978.
Throughout their relationship, they welcomed five children together, sons Donny Jr. 44, Jeremy, 44, Brandon, 39, Chris, 33 and Josh, 26.
The brothers have gone on to start their own families and have given the couple 14 grandchildren.
Although Debbie isn’t in the spotlight as much as the 66-year-old, they have made a handful of appearances together over the years.
Donnie spoke about her choice to shy away from the public eye in a heartwarming social media post back in 2020.
Alongside a sweet photo of them together, the singer penned: “This is Debbie, my wife of almost 42 years and the absolute love of my life.
“We decided a long time ago that we prefer to keep our personal relationship and home out of the spotlight.”
The touching message continued: “She's not only the love of my life, but she's also my best friend and greatest confidant.
“Between raising our five sons, running the show at home, enjoying time with our grandchildren and running a business as well, I really don't know how she manages to do it all.”

Donny added: “Through the years, Debbie has often had to manage on her own while I've toured and performed on the road.
“That's a very heavy burden to bear, and I'm deeply grateful for a wife who is my teammate in every sense of the word. She is the glue that holds us all together.”
In a separate Facebook post in 2016, the musician reflected on the early days of their romance and confessed: "She was the hot babe cheerleader in town and she dated my brother Jay before she dated me.”
