Donny Osmond bids 'final' farewell to family as he leaves home for 'long' time

As he gets ready to depart for his US Summer tour, Donny Osmond has shared an insight into the time he's been spending with his family in the lead up to being away from home for a long time. The 66-year-old shared a picture on X, formerly known as Twitter, of himself and his grandchildren enjoying some time in a swimming pool, surrounded by inflatables as they all beamed from ear to ear.

The singer captioned the post: "Enjoying a final swim at home with my grandkids before the long US summer tour begins this Friday in Milwaukee. By the way, thanks to Sue Pearson from Leeds in the UK who gave me that inflatable peacock during my tour over there. We've had so much fun with it.

"Speaking of fun, I'll see you all real soon on my US summer tour. Check Donny.com to see if I'm in a city near you," he concluded. Donny's loyal followers flocked to the comments section to compliment him on his picture with his grandchildren as well as share their excitement over his tour.

One person said: "You are blessed with many grandkids, loved that you enjoyed spending times with them. They'll cherish that forever. Safe travel with your tours."

Another follower penned: "Beautiful pictures of you and the grandkids Donny. Just purchased tickets to see you in Bethlehem!!!!!" Somebody else wrote: "What a beautiful pictures of you and your grandbabies. Can't wait to see you at the Louisville palace later this month."

Yet another fan expressed: "I love it! Looks like fun! Can't wait for this summer tour. Rest up... what is it 41 venues? Wow!

"Donny what a historic US tour. So exciting! See you at the end of this month in Connecticut."

A fifth said: "Looks like you've been enjoying your family time. Happy to see this picture! I am overjoyed that you are coming to see me in TX, especially Dallas! I will be there in the front row!"

While a sixth added: "I'm getting excited to see your show! We were at the Chicago concert Saturday night at the Riverside Theatre.

"When we came out after they had the marquee switched to your show. We'll be at the one Saturday night in Appleton."

The performer recently revealed he will be returning to Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat more than three decades after he played the lead between 1992 and 1997.

However, this time the legendary performer will be taking on a brand-new role when he returns to the musical as it goes on a tour of the UK this year.

Donny previously played Joseph, but he will now be portraying the Pharoah, who performs Song of the King in the epic production.
