Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen issues update after split from co-star girlfriend

Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen has opened up about his recent split from co-star and former flame Sarah Dow.

The Channel 5 heartthrob, confirmed last month that he and Sarah had called it quits despite both appearing in the new series Life in the Dales. On Lorraine, Reuben revealed: "Me and Sarah are no longer together but we're still very good friends. She's doing her own thing, pursuing her own career."

"She does the odd day for us when she's not busy. We're not together anymore but we still get on well and still good pals."

Post-breakup, Reuben seems to be diving into farm work with renewed vigour. The young star, just 18, took to social media to share a glimpse of his life on the farm.

He uploaded an image of himself at the helm of his tractor, surveying a sprawling field prepped for planting. Alongside the photo, Reuben wrote: "Another job starting to take shape."

The romance between Reuben and Sarah, who were introduced by mutual friend Tommy McWhirter, blossomed in December 2021 after a longstanding friendship.

Sarah reminisced on their first encounter during the Our Yorkshire Farm spin-off Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: "I met Reuben through Tommy, actually. We just got on really well and he taught me some stuff. I'm going to do an engineering course at college and I feel like I could adapt some of this towards that because I kind of know a bit about the machines now."

Reuben confessed that making a good impression on Sarah was daunting as flirting wasn't his forte.

The on-screen star and his former partner happily shared glimpses of their relationship on social media, and it was in 2022 that Reuben commemorated their first anniversary with a touching post. Alongside a photograph of the two of them, he cheekily penned: "Cheers @sarah11dow for not sacking me off yet. Been a full year."

Sarah joined the celebration by posting a mirror selfie with Reuben, captioning it: "1 year," complemented by a heart hands emoji.

In a surprising revelation, Reuben compared his breakup to that of his parents Amanda and Clive Owen who also parted ways in 2022. Lorraine chimed in her thoughts: "It's the same as your mum and dad really, they may not be together but they're still giving you lots of advice and encouragement."

To this, Reuben concurred: "You couldn't wish for any better parents, the whole family is very supportive of us. Dad and mum both come down here and give us a hand with the machines, they always give us advice and try to keep us on the straight and narrow."

Recent events have seen Reuben expressing concern about his buddy Tommy possibly setting his sights on new ventures away from their shared business pursuits. Their collection of machinery for their contracting enterprise has been showcased on Life in the Dales.

However, as Tommy recently sat his HGV exams, Reuben couldn't help but question the future of their business if his friend decided to leave.

In a heartfelt conversation with Sarah, he expressed his concerns: "If Tommy passes his test we may never see him again. That might be him, the open road awaits."

He then probed Tommy about his future plans: "Are we going to lose you any time soon then? " To which Tommy assured: "No, I wouldn't have thought so. I haven't even booked my (practical) test yet so it definitely won't be soon."

Reuben, accepting the inevitable, queried further: "When you pass, will you do a couple of days with me, a couple of days with Neil, or...? " Tommy responded with loyalty: "Yeah. I obviously want to drive a wagon but I'll still help you now and again."
