BRITONS heading on holiday with their hand-luggage could face additional charges as they have to buy a plastic bag for their liquids, with some airports charging up to £1.
A third of UK airports charge travellers for a plastic liquids bag
From seat reservations to printing tickets, heading on holiday rarely costs the price many think it will.
Add-ons to a holiday can quickly make a difference and stop a flight being so affordable.
Yet it has recently been revealed that a third of UK airports charge travellers for plastic bags that are compulsory for liquids.
With nine airports in the UK affected, it’s sure to annoy travellers who are already charged extra fees when flying.
The best on the list is Sheffield Airport who charge just 50p a bag
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has revealed which airports are included, reported the Daily Mail.
Newcastle is the worst offender, charging £1 for a single bag.
Bournemouth, Durham Tees Valley, Belfast International and East Midlands International provide two bags for £1, whilst Bristol, Glasgow Prestwick and Liverpool John Lennon provide four bags for £1.

Britons could face up to £1 a bag to store their liquids
Whilst London airports appear to be unaffected for now, it is a frustrating extra charge.
The restrictions mean that the bag must be transparent, resealable and measure 8 inches by 8 inches.
Therefore travellers hoping to avoid the charge by taking their own plastic bag will have to adhere to these restrictions.
Yet as items such as medicine, beauty products and breast milk all need to be put in the liquids bag, it could make a plane journey get more expensive more quickly.

It isn’t the only change to affect travellers at airports.
London airports could soon start charging drivers a £15 fee to battle air pollution around the area.
However, there are some surprising items that are still allowed within hand-luggage.
