Zagori, a region comprising 46 picturesque villages known as the Zagorochoria, is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty.

The area is characterised by dramatic landscapes, verdant forests, and majestic mountains.

One of the most captivating aspects of Zagori is its traditional architecture.

The villages are dotted with stone-built houses, charming cobblestone streets, and historic arched bridges that date back to the 18th century. The stone bridges, such as the iconic bridge of Konitsa, are engineering marvels that add a timeless charm to the region.

At the heart of Zagori lies Vikos Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the world.

This natural wonder, part of the Vikos–Aoös National Park, offers stunning views and challenging hiking trails.

The gorge is a haven for nature enthusiasts, with its rich biodiversity and crystal-clear rivers providing a perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures.

Zagori is a paradise for hikers, with numerous trails weaving through its lush landscapes.

The paths lead to hidden waterfalls, alpine lakes, and panoramic viewpoints.

Popular hikes include the trek to Drakolimni, a mythical dragon lake, and the ascent of Mount Tymfi, which rewards climbers with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains.

The cultural heritage of Zagori is deeply rooted in its history and traditions.

Visitors can explore centuries-old monasteries, such as the Monastery of Agia Paraskevi, perched on the edge of Vikos Gorge.

The local hospitality is equally memorable, with the warm and welcoming Zagorites eager to share their customs and stories.

No visit to Zagori is complete without savoring its culinary delights.

The region boasts a rich gastronomic tradition, with dishes made from locally sourced ingredients.

Specialties include pita, kontosouvli and batzina.

The local tavernas offer a cozy atmosphere to enjoy these authentic flavours.
