Ryanair has issued a stark warning to passengers who typically travel with black, navy or grey suitcases, urging them to 'change' their luggage to prevent any mix-ups upon arrival.

The budget airline advised travellers to make their checked-in luggage more recognisable on the carousel due to the commonality of these colours.

In a statement, Ryanair said: "Make it easier to spot your checked-in luggage on the carousel, especially if your luggage is black, navy or grey (like 99.9 percent of the population). Add a colourful luggage tag or ribbon to the handle so that there's no confusion on arrival."

Ryanair also advises passengers to make copies of their passport, driving licence, and/or ID card and email them to themselves.

It's also recommended to take photos of these documents and save them on your phone for offline access at your destination.

This advice follows Ryanair's announcement that it transports 7.1 million passengers in and out of Manchester Airport annually.

In October 2023, the airline revealed its new schedule, introducing new routes to destinations such as Belfast, Venice and Warsaw, bringing its total to 64 routes out of Manchester, according to Birmingham Live.

Dara Brady, Ryanair's Director of Digital and Marketing, stated that the schedule represents a £1.3billion (€1.6billion) investment and supports over 5,800 local jobs.

The renowned budget airline carries an impressive 52 million passengers to and from the UK each year with its fleet of 107 UK-based aircraft.

In June, Ryanair saw a surge in passengers with 19.3 million people choosing to fly with them on one of their 106,000 flights. This marked the first time the airline carried more than 19 million guests and represented an 11 percent increase from June 2023.

The airline also went the extra mile for England supporters during the Three Lions' Euro 2024 campaign, adding over 1,500 additional seats to and from Berlin for the cup final.

On another note, if you're in the market for stylish cabin bags and suitcases, Antler is worth checking out. Their Iconic Stripe Case, priced at £175, comes in seven stunning colours, including mist blue.
