WWE great Kurt Angle wants one more fight with John Cena after WrestleMania retirement
KURT ANGLE admits he would like to have one last fight with John Cena after retiring at WrestleMania 35.
John Cena returns to WWE after Bumblebee premiere
Angle lost to Baron Corbin on his very last match at WrestleMania last Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Many fans were disappointed when the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist chose Corbin as his final opponent as they were hoping to see him renewing his rivalry with Cena.
The two WWE legends have a lot of history with each other and it all started in 2002 during the Ruthless Aggression Era when The Champ faced Angle on his debut.
The wrestling heroes then fought each other many times after that and mostly feuded over the WWE Championship.
I wish I had one more round with you John
The WWE Universe requested one last match between them at Mania but they both went their separate ways at the Show of Shows.
Cena made a shock return as his old Dr of Thuganomics persona, which was among the most popular gimmicks in the early 2000s, and confronted Elias.
Angle faced Corbin and came out wearing his Team Angle gear from the Ruthless Aggression era.
The WWE Hall of Famer thought it was “ironic” that both he and the 16-time world champion went back to their roots at The Grandest Stage of Them All and wishes they had “one more round” in the ring.
The six-time world champion posted on his personal Instagram account: “Completely ironic that on the same night, at Wrestlemania 35 @johncena paid homage to his “ruthless aggression” thuganomics character, and I wore my “Team Angle” warm up.
“I wish I had one more round with you John.
“Regardless, I’m proud of my career.”
Angle appear on the first episode of RAW after WrestleMania at the Barclays Center in New York.
The ex-WWE Champion bid farewell to the fans and then took out Corbin who interrupted him.
The former World Heavyweight Champion’s night, though, wasn’t over yet as he suffered a savage assault by the debuting Lars Sullivan.
