The rising welterweight has been eyeing a fight with the former 170lbs title contender ever since his breakout victory over Donald Cerrone.
And according to reports, he will soon share the Octagon with ‘Wonderboy’.
In the early hours of the morning, BJ Penn.com’s Chris Taylor reported that Till will meet Thompson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 130, which takes place in his hometown of Liverpool on May 27.
The UFC have yet to announce Till’s opponent for the card but are expected to do so in the coming days.
Till, who has found it hard to land an opponent since emphatically seeing off Cerrone, believes a fight between himself and Thompson will make for great viewing for his fellow scousers due to their respective styles.
“Yeah, I feel that 'Wonderboy' (is the ideal fight)," he told Express Sport. “Liverpool is such a fighting city.
“Loads of boxers, they love stand-up, they love blood and everything. That’s the fight to make.”
