Khabib Nurmagomedov believes Conor McGregor will be stripped of the lightweight title before his UFC 223 bout with Tony Ferguson.
"We’re gonna fight for his belt,” he told TMZ Sports “The UFC will strip his belt, and now we’re gonna fight for the real belt.”
“100%,” the Dagestan native added when asked if he thinks the UFC brass will strip the Irishman of the 155lbs title.
“I have a contract, like, real belt. What are they gonna do? They only have one real belt. They have the interim belt, and they have the real belt.”

John Kavanagh reckons a trilogy fight between McGregor and Nate Diaz could take place in the winter, so long as the latter makes a swift return to the Octagon.
“I think Nate should get one in in the meantime,” he told The Mac Life.
“Him and Woodley, I hear there are rumours of that or him against a good lightweight.
“If the MMA gods smile, it would be a victory for [Diaz], Conor fights the winner of [Nurmagomedov/Ferguson] and then you’ve got this amazing super fight for new year’s eve.”

UFC featherweight Artem Lobov reckons McGregor’s next fight will see him lock horns with the winner of Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“Yeah, I think he will fight the winner of this fight,” Lobov said during an appearance on the Severe MMA podcast.
