Conor McGregor has revealed he’s no longer pursuing a mixed martial arts fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“I am happy for Floyd and his recent announcement that he is out of these current fight negotiations,” McGregor wrote on Instagram.
“It is the reason I never seeked the rematch in the first place. I was happy for him in retirement. My game is a very unforgiving one. It is not like other games.
“I understand completely him staying retired. I will now carry on in my negotiations and see where it goes.
"Have a great retirement Junior. Now come here and give your old man a hug for old times sake. I'm proud of you son.
“Your’s truly, Senior.”

Jon Jones denies steroid use
Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has once again denied intentionally taking the anabolic steroid which was discovered in his system in his recent failed drug test.
“Let me talk to my haters,” Jones tweeted.
“Blame my greatness on things you simply will never understand. Hard work. Passion. Suck one.”
The California State Athletic Commision will hold a hearing into Jones' second anti-doping on February 27.
USADA have yet to announce a date for their hearing into the matter, which has threated to permanently derail the New York native's mixed martial arts career.
