Conor McGregor responds to Floyd Mayweather’s trolling with epic tweet
CONOR MCGREGOR has wasted little time in responding to Floyd Mayweather Jr's latest shot at him.
Conor McGregor, UFC lightweight champion
Last night, the recently-retired Mayweather took aim at the UFC's lightweight champion in an expletive-laden Instagram post.
The post referenced McGregor's alleged involvement in a brawl at the Black Forge pub in Crumlin, in which he was reported to have hit a man with connections to Ireland's criminal underworld.
Alongside a picture of a headline regarding the story, which hasn't been verified, Mayweather wrote: “I already f**ked you up in 2017 now they about to f**k you up in 2018.
“You’re about to start your new year off with a bang.”
Mayweather's dig at McGregor garnered several thousand likes and retweets.
It didn't take too long for McGregor to get wind of the 40-year-old's comments, and he responded to them with a short and concise tweet.

Conor McGregor's response to Floyd Mayweather's latest dig at him
Conor McGregor is eager to have a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, according to Dana White
"I thought, leaving the arena that night, I told Conor, ‘What you did was amazing.’
"I was sitting there with my partner Lorenzo and I kept saying, “Oh my god, we found this kid in Ireland four years ago, he’s going into the sixth round with Floyd Mayweather. He’s going to the seventh round with Floyd Mayweather'.
"He did extremely well. But Conor was not happy with his performance. And obviously, Conor truly believed he was going to win that fight.
"I know deep down that he would do that fight again. But he needs to get back to MMA and defend his title."
