Last August, the UFC's lightweight champion took on Mayweather Jr in a multi-million-pound boxing match, a contest which was aptly dubbed 'The Money Fight'.
McGregor, 29, entered the much-maligned bout with no professional boxing experience to his name, a fact which led many to write off his chances of pulling off one of the greatest upsets in sporting history.
The Irishman more than held his own against the former five-weight world champion in the early rounds of the fights, despite not having a single round of ring time to his name.
However, he was soon overcome by fatigue, which paved the way for Mayweather to register a tenth-round TKO victory.
McGregor, 29, believes he could've pulled off the seemingly impossible and handed Mayweather his first professional loss if he made a few changes to his preparations for the bout.
"I know if I went another go with him under boxing rules I'd get that win, I know that," Ireland's first UFC belt holder said. "I knew I could do it in the first place.
"He fought completely than he (usually) fought, he couldn't figure out what I was doing early on. And that's it.
“I feel with the lessons I learned from that first fight, if I had another go around, I'd get it."

Conor wants that fight again, really badly
Although McGregor holds this belief, he's stated on numerous occasions that he won't pursue a rematch with 'Money', much to the delight of the majority of the mixed martial arts world.
UFC president Dana White is pleased with that fact but admits McGregor still wants another crack at Mayweather.
"Conor wants that fight again, really badly. Of course," White said during an appearance on FOX Sports' Undisputed.
"I thought, leaving the arena that night, I told Conor, ‘What you did was amazing.’
Conor McGregor still wants to have a rematch with Floyd Mayweather
"I was sitting there with my partner Lorenzo and I kept saying, “Oh my god, we found this kid in Ireland four years ago, he’s going into the sixth round with Floyd Mayweather. He’s going to the seventh round with Floyd Mayweather'.
"He did extremely well. But Conor was not happy with his performance.
"And obviously, Conor truly believed he was going to win that fight.

"I know deep down that he would do that fight again. But he needs to get back to MMA and defend his title."
McGregor, 21-3, hasn't set foot inside the Octagon since claiming the lightweight title in the main event of UFC 205, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
His first fight back in the UFC is expected to be a lightweight title unification bout against interim 155lbs champion Tony Ferguson.
