Novak Djokovic admitted he was "sad" to learn his young daughter isn't bothered about watching his matches as he gears up for another SW19 semi-final. The 37-year-old will face Lorenzo Musetti on Friday in his 13th Wimbledon semi-final - equalling the record set by Roger Federer - and his 49th in a Grand Slam overall.

Such greatness means his family have become accustomed to watching the Serbian win throughout his illustrious career. So much so that Djokovic's six-year-old daughter, Tara, was even caught by broadcast cameras reading a book about unicorns during Djokovic's fourth-round tie with Alexei Popyrin.

When asked about how he felt watching one of his "biggest fans" ignoring the action on court, a chuckling Djokovic joked that he was disappointed to discover Tara wasn't interested.

“I love unicorns, of course! I was very happy when I saw that. And sad at the same time because my tennis doesn’t make her excited so much, so she needs to grab a book to entertain herself," Djokovic said, speaking to The Tennis Channel.

"But no, it’s incredible to have them with me and to see them grow. And to get them to be part of this journey and have them at the age where they understand what’s going on."

Djokovic has two children with his wife Jelena, who is often seen in the stands supporting her husband. More recently, she has started to bring the entire Djokovic clan along to his matches, with his nine-year-old son, Stefan, more keen than his sister to follow in Djokovic's footsteps.

And Djokovic has described the jubilation he feels when practicing alongside his kids, revealing that it helps him take his mind off the stress of being tennis' most successful player.

"My son is nine, my daughter is six and they were actually both playing tennis today with me on the court. It was joy," Djokovic added. "My heart is filled with love when I see them. It allows me to kind of enjoy myself off the court a bit more.

"When you get to the latter stages of Grand Slams, the tension and the pressure, the stress, is growing. Everything is about recovery, your training or getting ready for the next match and the next challenge. You feel the tension rising, the whole team around you. So having them here just gives me a great balance."

Djokovic will be aiming to win his 25th Grand Slam - an unprecedented feat in both men's and women's tennis - by adding to his collection of seven Wimbledon titles. One can assume that if he reaches the final, Tara might just start to pay attention again.
