Elena Rybakina gave a sassy press conference after winning her first match at the French Open.

The world No. 4 played and won her first match in more than three weeks after she was forced to pull out in Rome, where she was the reigning champion.

But speaking to journalists afterwards, Rybakina complained that she was being asked the same things and continued to ask for other questions.

Twelve months ago, Rybakina had to pull out of the French Open ahead of her third-round match when she caught Covid. Asked how she was feeling this year in comparison, the Kazakh noted that she had already addressed it in the past.

“No, it didn't affect in any way. I mean, I know how to play in different conditions. I mean, for sure physically I'm much better than last year since I had to withdraw. I had Covid, so of course, now I'm much better. The questions are quite the same, so I don't know what to say anymore,” she replied.

She also gave a short, snappy response about the conditions under the new roof on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, saying: “Same as previous years, I guess.”

As a French Open quarter-finalist and a former champion at Wimbledon, Rybakina was then quizzed over what it took to lift the trophy in Paris, to which she asked for other questions. “It's quite basic. You need to work hard, do all the things usually you don't want to do. Simple question; simple answers. So, guys, something else?” the 24-year-old added.

There was chattier on social media during Rybakina’s first-round win over Greet Minnen as fans thought she was wearing her first custom Yonex kit. But she quickly put those claims to bed when asked about it.

“No, I was last year also in Yonex,” she replied. “These colours? These colours I didn't choose. It was the brand who chose for me, so some other questions?” Rybakina also recalled her first memories of meeting Aryna Sabalenka before being informed of a junior match they played.

“This I don't remember. I think no one will remember everything that happened five, six years ago,” she explained. The eight-time title winner went on to share her thoughts on Sabalenka before cutting herself off. “And as a person also -- I don't know what to say, guys,” she said. “So that's it.”
