NBA Finals: Charles Barkley makes shock LeBron James claim about Warriors vs Cavs
LEBRON JAMES has never had a better opportunity to beat the Golden State Warriors with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
That’s the opinion of NBA legend Charles Barkley, who claims the Warriors don’t have a strong as bench as they used to.
The Cavaliers managed to do what no team in this year’s playoffs had done against the Boston Celtics on Sunday by beating them at the TD Garden in the all-important Game 7 to clinch their spot in the NBA Finals.
And Golden State also needed an away Game 7 win against the Houston Rockets last night to keep their championship hopes alive.
It will be the fourth consecutive year the Warriors and the Cavaliers have met in the NBA Finals with Golden State winning two to Cleveland’s one.
Cleveland’s 2016 championship win was one of the most dramatic in history as they came back from 3-1 down.
The Warriors have since added Kevin Durant, who was crucial in them winning the title last year.
However, Barkley believes James and the Cavaliers have a much better chance of beating Golden State this time around.
“I think this is his best chance at beating this team,” Barkley said.
“Because the Warriors bench is not as good as they used to be.
“They don’t have the guys that they had three or four years ago.
“I think he Cavs bench is under-rated. I think he starts playing Larry Nace, Clarkson, Jeff Green and those guy more - giving them confidence…
“I’m going to be pulling for the Cavs. I don’t care who wins but I’m going to be rooting for the Cavs.”
