New York Giants confirm BROKEN ankle for Odell Beckham Jr in Los Angeles Chargers defeat
ODELL BECKHAM JR has fractured his ankle, the New York Giants have confirmed.
Odell Beckham Jr was in tears on a cart after hurting his ankle
Beckham Jr, nicknamed OBJ, scored a touchdown in the earlier in the game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
But with four minutes left in the game and the Giants leading 22-20, he rose for a catch and landed awkwardly.
The NFL ace was then taken off the field on a cart and footage captured the 24-year-old in tears with a towel over his face.
ESPN reporter Jordan Raanan initially reported on Twitter that Beckham Jr was set to have surgery on a leg injury.
He tweeted: “Odell Beckham is headed for surgery, per source.

“He injured his leg in the fourth quarter.”
But the Giants confirmed the worst that Beckham Jr had broken his ankle.
They tweeted: "Injury Update: wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has a fractured ankle."
It capped a miserable day for the Giants, who eventually lost 27-22 and suffered injuries to wide receivers Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris.

Giants fans quickly took to Twitter to lament their injury woes and wish Beckham Jr a speedy recovery.
Taylor Rooks tweeted: “Brutal game for Giants. Injuries rampant, receiving corps depleted.
“OBJ looks badly injured, such a talented player, have to feel for him.”
Quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is a free agent, said: “Praying for the best for OBJ hit looked nasty.”
