Mo Farah produces incredible performance to win gold in 5,000m final
MO FARAH produced a superlative performance to lay claim to be one of Britain's greatest athletes after powering to gold in the 5,000m final.
In the process, Farah became only the second man to hold the world and Olympic 5,000m and 10,000m titles simultaneously.
Farah got his tactics spot-on in a gruelling race and held off his nearest challengers to win in style.
The Olympic champion came into the race brimming with confidence, having surged to glory in the 10,000m final last weekend and never leaves anything to chance.
Farah moved seamlessly through the gears and was perfectly positioned with five laps left to go.
And then he pushed to the front of the pack with a couple of laps remaining.
As he came to the top bend, Farah kicked on to win in style, beating off the two Kenyans.
Farah collapsed to his knees in joy before doing a traditional lap of honour to savour the moment.
Speaking after the race, Farah said: "It was really tough. The guys worked as a team and it was left to the last three laps."
