Louis Rees-Zammit was over the moon with the Jacksonville Jaguars' first triumph of the season, yet a near bust-up between team-mates threatened to overshadow the celebrations.

During the week five clash with Indianapolis Colts, Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence and wide receiver Gabe Davis had a heated exchange in the opening quarter. The pair failed to sync on a play, leading to the spat, as CBS reported.

In a moment of vexation, Lawrence was seen tossing his tablet aside, although he later quipped that he merely "set it down firmly". The tiff, however, wasn't captured on the live broadcast.

Nonetheless, a last-gasp field goal from rookie Cam Little, just 17 seconds before the final whistle, clinched a thrilling 37-34 victory for the Jaguars. Ex-Welsh rugby sensation Rees-Zammit couldn't contain his excitement, sharing the scoreline on his Instagram story.

The 23 year old then captured the hero of the day, Little, in the locker room, reliving his decisive kick on social media, and jubilantly declaring: "Right down main street, brother! Right down the middle! ". Rees-Zammit's laughter is audible in the background, and he captioned the footage: 'Hitting game winners, standard', reports Wales Online.

Although Rees-Zammit didn't play in the actual game that saw the Colts defeated, his role in getting the 53-man squad match-ready as a practice squad player is crucial to the Jaguars' operations.

The Jaguars have had a challenging start to their season in AFC South, languishing at the bottom of their division with just one victory from five games. Meanwhile, Rees-Zammit's previous team, the Kansas City Chiefs, are currently leading AFC West with an unbeaten record of four wins.

The former Gloucester Rugby winger has been relatively silent on social media recently, following a tumultuous summer that saw him dropped by the Chiefs after a demanding pre-season. He is now part of the 17-player practice squad for the Jaguars and will be aiming to secure a spot on the main roster during this season.
