KyrenWilson is right to complain about getting no benefits from being the snooker world champion and is always put on the "graveyard shift".

The 32-year-old shouldn't be cast aside on table two at any event - never mind at three recent tournaments in Brentwood, Cheltenham and in Saudi Arabia.

That's no way to build up a guy who could spearhead the sport when Ronnie O'Sullivan retires.

Snooker tournament organisers are never consistent with who they put on the main stage.

Sometimes it's the highest-ranked player, other times it's the most popular - but rarely is it the most exciting match.

Winning the biggest events should have some clout when it comes to playing conditions at future tournaments.

But maybe Wilson has hit the nail on the head with his comments as it doesn't look like changing any time soon: "If your face doesn't fit... tough."

Golf needed

FINALLY golf has got a bit of needle and it makes for gripping viewing.

The US team at the Presidents Cup used all the dark arts - which is the 'in' word at the minute - to unsettle their international opponents.

Tom Kim accused his rivals of sportsmanship and swearing at him. Everyone loves a bit of 'houseary - as long as you're not on the receiving end.

Ricciardo next move

EVERYBODY is tipping Daniel Ricciardo to become a Sky Sports pundit now he has been axed from F1 because he has a fun personality.

But he will have to scrap the nice-man character and be brutally honest on some of his pals if he is to make a career on TV.
