Mo Farah will go the distance
DOUBLE Olympic champion Mo Farah is warming to the idea of dominating distance running through to the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.
He said: “Yes, that’s what great athletes do and that’s what I intend to do.”
Just how long he stays on the track before moving to the marathon will depend on the advice of his coach, Alberto Salazar, but when he does switch to the longer distance, Farah says it will happen first in London.
“I have run in front of 80,000 people in that stadium, so imagine what it would be like on the streets of London,” said Farah.
Farah was visiting a disused school in Lambeth, South London, that is being converted into a community sports centre.
A campaign called ‘Move It’ was being launched to encourage children’s participation in sport.
