Ronnie O’Sullivan's bid takes off
RONNIE O’Sullivan dispelled any idea that he had given up on snooker as he sent a defiant message to his Crucible rivals.
The Rocket won the final three frames as he raced into the last 16 of the World Championship with a 10-2 demolition of Welshman Dominic Dale in Sheffield. This came after the three-time world champion had withdrawn from the event last week before changing his mind.
O’Sullivan, who had not won a ranking match since last September, now faces Shaun Murphy.
“I never worry about anyone I play, there’s not yet been a player out there I can’t beat,” he said. “If I can keep that feeling then I can win more world titles, even if it isn’t this year.
“I am glad I showed up to play. I enjoyed that match as much as any since I have been coming to the Crucible.
“I have a tough looking draw, but I love that and there is no one who I wouldn’t back myself against.”
