Lewis owes it to Ferrari
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has suggested Lewis Hamilton should thank the Italians if he wins the world title on Sunday.
The Briton can take the drivers’ title at the Chinese Grand Prix should he finish ahead of McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso and Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.
Montezemelo is furious that, despite Ferrari’s rivals being fined £50million and losing all their constructors’ points over the spying row, the McLaren drivers were not thrown out of the championship.
He said: “I still think that in the spying affair it was a big mistake not to disqualify the McLaren drivers.
“If Hamilton wins the world title, it will be thanks to Ferrari because inside his car, there is much Ferrari.”
