NFL enthusiasts have urged Terry Bradshaw to hang up his microphone after a less-than-stellar performance on NFL on Fox. The 76-year-old NFL legend and broadcaster attempted to mimic a Carolina accent before the Cincinnati Bengals took on the Carolina Panthers, which did not go down well with viewers who promptly expressed their discontent online.

One viewer remarked: "Terry Bradshaw, I'm so sorry, but I can't even understand you anymore. Please leave the studio, man."

A tweet read: "Terry Bradshaw sounded like Forrest Gump-I've lived in NC for 25 years, and I've never heard anyone sound like that."

Another added their voice to the criticism, saying: "C'mon Terry, the people of North Carolina have suffered enough this week."

Calls for Bradshaw's retirement were rampant, with one bluntly stating: "He needs to retire."

While another commented: "Oh, by the way, FOX NFL Sunday needs to get rid of Terry Bradshaw. Dude is a senior citizen that needs to stay home and drink a warm glass of milk."

However, not everyone was critical; some fans defended Bradshaw's antics. One supporter pointed out: "Where have you ppl been? Did you just start watching the show today? He's been doing goofy things like this forever. Stop whining," and another found humour in the situation: "I think that's hilarious. People need to lighten up."

Bradshaw's witty banter has long been part of his TV allure, with his comedic quips endearing him to viewers. This charm was particularly evident during a recent gag when the Fox team duped Rob Gronkowski into believing in a nonexistent Dallas Cowboys tight end post their 20-15 triumph over the New York Giants.

However, some pans Bradshaw's views as passe, most notably regarding todays NFL stars. Case in point: his commentary on Chicago Bears' fresh talent Caleb Williams caught some flak after he remarked on Williams' choice to paint his nails, quipping, "What if I'd have painted my fingernails in 1970, black on this side [right hand] and gold on this side [left hand]? ".

The offhand comment lead to an awkward moment, with co-hosts Howie Long and Michael Strahan sitting beside Bradshaw and hastening to change the subject. Long expressed his hope that Bradshaw would drop the idea, laughing, while Strahan interjected, stating: "It's a new era."

Serving Fox since 1994 and having launched his broadcast career ten years earlier with CBS, Bradshaw has received three Sports Emmy awards for his broadcasting prowess, ranking him alongside sports commentary greats like Mike Breen, Kirk Herbstreit, and Harold Reynolds.
