The 82-game regular season is nearly over, with a number of teams still fighting for seedings in their respective conferences.
Golden State Warriors remain the favourites to defend their title and go for a third consecutive NBA championship.
But teams such as the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks are looking to spring a surprise after impressing during the regular season.
With LeBron James out west and the Cleveland Cavaliers out of the playoffs, there is set to be a new team coming out of the Eastern Conference to potentially challenge the Warriors.
NBA Playoffs 2019 schedule
First round dates
The final regular season games are played on April 10 and there are only a few days break before the postseason begins.
The first round matches get underway on April 13 and are scheduled to run for two weeks.
Conference semifinals dates
Following the conclusion of the first round, the Conference semifinals are set to begin on April 29/30.
But they could be moved forward to April 27/28, depending on whether the first-round fixtures finished quickly.
Conference Finals dates
The Conference Finals are scheduled to get underway on May 14/15, but could be moved forward to May 12/13.
NBA Finals dates
The NBA Finals will begin on May 30 with the team with the best record during the regular season having home-court advantage.
If the Finals go to a deciding Game 7, the match will be played no later than June 16.
