Zion Williamson: NBA prospect tipped to sign HISTORIC deal - LeBron James comparison made
ZION WILLIAMSON will sign the biggest shoe deal in history, because he is the best prospect to enter the NBA since LeBron James.
That is the opinion of NBA analyst Bill Simmons.
The Duke star is expected to be picked first overall in this year’s NBA draft.
The 18-year-old is widely regarded as a generational talent, and someone who could dominate the NBA for years to come.
This season for Duke, Williamson was part of the team that won the ACC Championship, and his side are expected to win the NCAA Championship later this month.
In February, however, things all went wrong for Williamson as he blew through his shoe and injured his knee.
Williamson was forced to miss six games because of the injury, as many fans and pundits called for him to sit out the rest of the season until the draft.
He is currently averaging 22 points per game, with 8.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
And Simmons explained that Williamson will benefit from the shoe incident because it will see him sign the most lucrative deal in history this summer.
“There’s no debate, people think it’s a healthy debate, but it isn’t,” he said on the Bill Simmons podcast.
“You can’t tell someone who is 100 per-cent not to play basketball when they love playing basketball.
“There’s nothing healthy about that.
“He’s going to make $300million-plus with his shoe contract.
”Zion is fine. Don’t bring the violins out for Zion.
“The shoe contract that he signs will be the biggest that has ever been signed.
“He’s certainly the best prospect since LeBron, I have him over [Anthony] Davis now.”
