NBA All Star Game: SEVEN things you missed as Team LeBron beat Team Giannis
LEBRON JAMES led a miraculous comeback as his team of All Stars came from behind to beat Giannis Antetokounmpo’s team 179-164, and here are seven of the main talking points from the game.
Durant leads comeback
Kevin Durant led the scoring in the All Star game with an incredible 31 points, six rebounds and two assists.
He played 26 minutes and spearheaded the Team LeBron comeback in the second half.
With so much speculation currently over his head, many took his link-up play with James as an indication that he will head to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer in free agency.
Kyrie and LeBron reunite
For the second time in as many years, Kyrie Irving and James linked up on the same team after their NBA Championship-winning spell with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Irving, who scored 13 points in the win, also chipped in with six assists, including a highlight lob to LeBron for a dunk, which left fans reminiscing about their time together in Cleveland.
Steph’s showreel dunk
With the game coming to a close, Curry decided to take it upon himself to give the fans one last moment to cheer.
Playing in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, the Golden State Warriors star hit an impressive 17 points with nine rebounds and seven assists.
His final two points came when he threw the ball up for himself before leaping up for a behind-the-head dunk, in a move which wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Slam Dunk Contest.
Giannis’ free-throw dunk
Antetokounmpo surprised everyone with his first free-throw, as he opted against a traditional shot.
Instead, he threw himself an assist off the backboard, before slamming home a dunk.
However, the point did not count, as the shot was ruled as a violation.
Wade’s last appearance
Dwyane Wade played his 13th and final All Star game on Sunday, as he prepares to retire at the end of the seats.
Wade played alongside James for the final time, having spent four years with the star at the Miami Heat.
Embiid and Durant spat
Durant and Joel Embiid were involved in a verbal spat during the first half.
As the Warriors star went in for a fadeaway shot, he was pushed back by Embiid, drawing a foul.
And the Team LeBron star didn't take too kindly to it, and appeared to give some choice words to him before taking the free-throw.
Curry drains four-pointer over Klay
During the third quarter, Curry drained a three-pointer from distance over his team-mate and friend Klay Thompson.
In doing so, he drew a foul from his ‘splash brother’, and it was clear to see how unhappy the Team LeBron star was.
Curry fell into the first row, and the crowd in the Spectrum Center went crazy.
