NBA All Star MVP: Kevin Durant beats LeBron James, Giannis to MVP award
KEVIN DURANT was named MVP for the 2019 NBA All Star Game after leading Team LeBron to victory over Team Giannis.
Team LeBron looked as though they were going to be handed a huge loss by Team Giannis at half-time.
But Durant helped lead Team LeBron on a roll in the third quarter, before tying the game heading into the fourth.
And the Golden State Warriors led the charge again in the final quarter, finishing with 31 points.
The 30-year-old was dead-eye from three, hitting six of nine attempts.
And he also came up big on the defensive end, finishing with seven rebounds.
Giannis Antetokounmpo looked as though he was on course to win the MVP award with his first half performance.
And the Milwaukee Bucks star finished with the most points, putting up 38 points.
But he was unable to lead his side to victory in his first All Star Game as captain.
Kawhi Leonard also came up trump for Team LeBron, finishing with 19 points from only 19 minutes.
But Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson were crucial for Team LeBron coming back in the game, connecting with six threes each.
In total, both teams put up an unbelievable 168 three-point attempts.
Team LeBron edged it, shooting 38.5 per cent as opposed to Team Giannis who averaged 35.1 per cent from deep.
And there were plenty of assists to go around with both teams totalling 85 dimes in the game.
