Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals all on captaining Steph Curry and co at NBA All Star game
GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO will captain a side to take on Team LeBron James tonight at the NBA All Star weekend in Charlotte.
And the ‘Greek Freak’ is excited to be at his third All Star event and has thanked his Milwaukee Bucks team-mates for helping him get to where he is.
Giannis will lead the likes of Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Paul George and Kemba Walker onto the court.
He said: “It’s amazing just to be going through this experience for the third time.
“I want to thank everyone for voting for me.
“I want to thank my team-mates, my team for putting me in a spot to be successful but I’m just trying to act like it’s my first time and just have fun, smile and enjoy the experience.”
When asked what it was like to be captain he simply said three words.
“It feels good,” he exclaimed.
Giannis was also asked about his time at the Bucks and how he has been so successful.
He explained: “The journey has been amazing so far. You know we’re having fun.
“We’re playing together as a team, playing hard and off the court we’re best friend and as much as we enjoy on the court winning games, playing hard and competing, we enjoy the same company off the court.
“The atmosphere so far has been amazing.”
Giannis is averaging 27.2 points per game this season.
That has helped the Bucks to top of the Eastern Conference with a 43-15 record.
