Steph Curry missed HILARIOUS dunk attempt before embarrassing airball - NBA Twitter reacts
STEPH CURRY is already one of the NBA’s all-time greatest shooters, but he had one of the most bizarre sequences of his career during the Golden State Warriors’ win over the Los Angeles Lakers last night.
NBA: Steph Curry SLIPS during game against Lakers
The Warriors stormed to a comfortable 130-111 win over the Lakers last night with Klay Thompson stealing the show.
He tied an NBA record for most consecutive made three-pointers without a miss, hitting 10 in a row as he finished with 44 points from just 27 minutes.
But one of the biggest highlights of the game came from Curry when he didn’t even make a bucket.
The two-time MVP intercepted a pass in the third quarter and raced up the floor with nobody from the Lakers bothering to chase back.
Knowing that he had nobody around him, Curry looked as though he was getting ready for a dunk attempt.
But just as he was about to jump up, his feet gave way underneath him before falling on his backside.
That wasn’t the end of it though as he quickly got back to his feet to try and redeem himself from the three-point line.
However, the 30-year-old, who is usually nailed on to hit an open three, completely missed the bucket altogether.
And NBA Twitter couldn’t help but troll the Warriors star for the hilarious sequence.
One user said: “He airballed too lmao. I love this man but yeah, Curry taking an L for this ??????”
Another posted: “He gotta retire now and live on an island by himself now.”
A third tweeted: “When I saw this I knew exactly it would end up on @shaqtin ????????????”
It wasn’t a great shooting night for Curry overall as he finished with just 11 points off 3-12, hitting just 2-10 from three.
But it was seemingly a rare blip in what has otherwise been an incredible season for the three-time NBA champion.
Over the last nine games prior to the match against the Lakers, Curry had been averaging 33.4 points per game.
The Warriors have now won eight games on the bounce and sit top of the Western Conference standings.
