NBA fans shocked after Lakers star Kyle Kuzma takes three free throws - but this is why
KYLE KUZMA produced a moment of madness against the Utah Jazz on Friday night as he appeared to take three free-throws instead of two.
The Los Angeles Lakers were down by 17 points against the Jazz when he was fouled going for a score.
Kuzma was attempting a dunk when he was hit in the eye by Donovan Mitchell.
He was awarded two free-throws, and sank both.
However, instead of the game continuing, Kuzma took a third.
Fans were stunned by the move and took to Twitter immediately to react.
“Why the hell Kuzma took 3 free throws?” one posted.
Another wrote: “Kuzma got 3 free throws that is so bizarre hahahahah”
“Not that I’m mad or anything but how did Kyle Kuzma was able to shoot three free throws?” a third wrote.
Even the commentators were confused by the incident.
“How many free throws is he going to shoot?” They asked.
“Did he not just shoot three free-throws?
“He just took three free-throws.
"But the ball went in.”
It was later established that the second of the three free-throws didn’t count due to a player encroaching in the lane.
Kuzma had only scored two points before the free-throw incident.
