NBA news: LeBron James injury update, Kawhi Leonard to Lakers backed, Anthony Davis trade
NBA news - LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis dominate the latest rumours and gossip coming out of the league.
LeBron James could be out for SIX weeks says Broussard
LeBron James injury update
LeBron James will not travel with Los Angeles Lakers to face Utah Jazz on Friday.
The King has missed the last eight games after picking up a groin injury during the Lakers’ Christmas Day win against the Golden State Warriors.
Head coach Luke Walton has confirmed James will be re-assessed by the side's medical department on Friday.
The Lakers have listed James as 'day-to-day' on their injury report, however, it’s feared his problem could be much worse than first anticipated.
You get a guy like Kawhi, one player can go to LA Lakers, or go to Boston Celtics, that player is going to have a chance to win a Championship
Kawhi Leonard decision
Kawhi Leonard will head back to the Western Conference this summer if Toronto Raptors fail to win the NBA Championship this year, Paul Pierce claims.
Leonard has been heavily linked with a move to the Lakers or the Clippers when he becomes a free agent this summer.
And Pierce reckons the LA sides have a great shot of landing the small forward.
"I think the only way he stays there (with the Raptors) is if they win the Championship," Pierce exclusively told Express Sport.
"I think he is a California guy, he will end up on the Western Conference somewhere. But nobody really knows what Kawhi will do.
"I thought he had a great situation down there in San Antonio and obviously it wasn't that great - he wanted out.
"But that is the beauty about basketball and free agencies and great players.
"You know that a player can become a free agent and one player can change the fate of a franchise unlike every other sport.
"You get a guy like Kawhi, one player can go to LA Lakers, or go to Boston Celtics, that player is going to have a chance to win a Championship."
Anthony Davis to Boston Celtics backed
Boston Celtics hero Pierce has also backed his old side to beat the Lakers to Anthony Davis.
"That would be a great move [for Davis]," Pierce exclusively told Express Sport of Davis, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the New Orleans Pelicans.
"A lot of optimism surrounds teams like Boston and Los Angeles Lakers with Anthony Davis.
"Who knows where he is going to end up, if he ends up anywhere."
