Kevin Durant opens up on LeBron James and the Lakers ahead of Christmas game
KEVIN DURANT has admitted that it will be tough playing against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas day, due to the strength of LeBron James.
The Golden State Warriors take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day as part of a packed NBA schedule of games.
On Sunday, the two teams had different warm-ups, as the Warriors beat the LA Clippers 129-127, before the Lakers went down 107-99 losers against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Warriors were led by Steph Curry and Durant, who scored 77 points between them.
The game went right down to the wire, with Curry scoring a last-gasp lay-up to earn the win.
The Lakers had no such luck, however.
Missing JaVale McGee, the team struggled to properly get going, despite a late flurry of points scored.
And ahead of Tuesday night’ game, Durant opened up on what he thinks of the Lakers, who are now 19-14.
“I’ve seen them for about five or six games this season,” he said.
“They’re playing fast, they’re playing fast, man.
“Energetic basketball.
“You can tell they’re over this last stretch, they’ve been having a nice little winning streak.
“Obviously LeBron is a force on the floor with his strength, his passing and his scoring ability.
“It just opens it up for everybody else, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, JaVale [McGee].
“They’re getting some great minutes, and we know Kuzma is that second guy behind LeBron, so we’ve got a tough game ahead of us.”
Tip-off on Tuesday night is 1am UK time on the 26th.
