LeBron James: Rumoured Lakers trade target makes admission over star
LEBRON JAMES could be getting a new superstar team-mate after one of the Los Angeles Lakers’ potential trade targets admitted he wanted to play with the star.
Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard was wanted by James when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The request was made by James after team-mate Kyrie Irving asked for a trade.
The former Cavs star wanted to leave to get out of the shadow of James.
He reportedly wanted to lead his own franchise, and got his wish after winning the 2016 NBA title with Cleveland.
Irving went on to leave for the Boston Celtics, while James spent another year at the Cavs before leaving for Los Angeles.
Lillard, however, never made the move to Cleveland, but has hinted that he would like to play with the Lakers star.
Speaking to Bleacher Report, he appeared to dash any Lakers fans’ hopes of a trade.
“I love where I am,” he said.
“I play for a great organization.
“I’m not looking for nothing.
“I think we’d complement each other well, but the only way that ever happens is if my team decides they don’t want me no more.
“I’m trying to build something here.”
The Lakers are reported to be preparing a trade deal for Anthony Davis.
According tor reports in America, the Lakers are ready to give up three key players to obtain Davis.
Lonzo Ball, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Brandon Ingram could all make way for the New Orleans Pelicans star.
