NBA news: Warriors claim made about Steph Curry and Kevin Durant ahead of Hawks trip
KEVIN DURANT is forced to fill the void when Steph Curry doesn’t play for the Golden State Warriors.
That is the view of NBA pundit Dave McMenamin, who thinks Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has to strike the right balance in his side.
Warriors - who have lost on their last two outings against the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons - have Curry back in their ranks.
Having previously sat out 10 games, Curry - who is in his second game back for the reigning NBA champions - is a welcome boost.
McMenamin has watched the Warriors from afar this term and thinks there might be an over-reliance on Durant.
And he thinks the onus is on Kerr to ensure that Durant and Curry can combine effectively.
“They play KD ball when Steph [Curry] is not there,” McMenamin said.
“KD had the most points over a three-game span.
“What I loved about this comment is that when you have three rings in the past four years as a coach, you have the clout to put it on you and move on.
You take the pressure off KD. That’s good coaching

Kerr had slammed his side’s attacking prowess after their 111-102 defeat to the Pistons on Saturday night.
He said: “I did not like our offense tonight.

Warriors: Green cheers on Durant after HUGE three pointer
“Tonight was probably a game I could mark down as one of my worst performances as a coach, honestly.

“We've gotta get better shots.
“We gotta get more spacing, get better flow.”
Warriors are fourth in the Western Conference standings with a 15-9 record.
