Lakers news: WATCH Patty Mills winning shot to extend LeBron James losing streak
SAN ANTONIO SPURS beat Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA overnight thanks to a stunning Patty Mills shot in overtime.
Spurs ran out 143-142 victors in Los Angeles to frustrate the winless Lakers.
LeBron James and co. have now gone three games without a win to start the new NBA season.
And it was all thanks to a winning play from Mills and his team-mates.
With the clock ticking down, the Spurs found themselves a point behind at the Staples Center.

A great game, a great test of character
But a play from the left led to Mills working out an opening to go for the two-pointer.
The Australian sunk his effort clearly and Spurs held out for the victory - which means LeBron James is yet to win with his new side.
After the game Mills said: “A great game, a great test of character.
“We’ve had two test of character wins where we could have folded and given away, but we’ve got a really good group of guys here who really want to win. And that happened tonight - it was really tough.”
He then added: “It was a test of character, a team win. Everyone was involved and made the big plays when they needed to.
“Hats off to how well we’ve come together at such an early time.
“Everyone wants to do well for the team and so stuff to make the team go forward. A gutsy win and obviously a lot of mistakes defensively.
“We’ll keep going forward and build on this. You can’t teach the grip this team is showing that we have.”
