LeBron James burglary: Police confirm Lakers star targeted in $1m spree
LEBRON JAMES was one of the targets of a Los Angeles burglary crew, it has been revealed.
Los Angeles Police department recently arrested a crew of suspected burglars, three teenagers and a 34-year-old woman, who is also the mother of one of the teenage men.
Police believe this crew stole more than $1million, as well as designer watches, handbags, a vehicle and a firearm.
After arresting the crew and carrying out a search warrant at an un-named address, it was found that the crew planned to attack the home of LeBron James, amongst a string of other addresses.
In a press conference, LAPD Capt. Lillian Carrana stated that the suspects had mapped out their planned hit-list, and were carrying out the burglaries based on a knowledge of where the residents would be.
“During recent months the Los Angeles Police Department has become aware of a series of burglaries, targeting actors, actresses, musicians and professional athletes living in the Los Angeles area,” she said.
“Initially it was believed that these homes were being burglarised at random.
“However, detectives have learned that this is not the case.
“The victim’s homes had been selected based on social media posts, or touring schedules of the residents.
“Viola Davies, LeBron James, Matt Damon, just to name a few.
“Yes they did (already have the full addresses).”
Capt. Carrana admitted that it was unknown what the value of the stolen items was.
The crew alleged to be targeting James’ home had already allegedly hit a number of celebrity homes in Los Angeles, including LA Rams star Robert Woods.
“I could not even begin to give you an estimate at this point,” Capt. Carrana said.
“But, it’s in the millions.”
James moved to Los Angeles this summer, having sealed a four-year deal at the Lakers.
